Destination Setup

Please do the following steps to add LinkedIn as a destination in DinMo:
  1. 1.
Go to the Destinations section in the navigation bar.
  2. 2.
    Click "Add a new destination".
  3. 3.
    Select "LinkedIn Ads".
  4. 4.
Click "Connect" to activate the connection. You will be redirected to LinkedIn, where you will be asked to grant the necessary permissions to DinMo.
  5. 5.
Click continue once the connection is done.
  6. 6.
Give a name to your destination.
  7. 7.
    Click Connect.

Syncing Audiences

DinMo can be used to sync audiences to LinkedIn, of two types: user audiences and company audiences.
After having connected your destination, to sync data to LinkedIn, you are required to create an Activation Target corresponding to this service. Once done, you can then send segments to this activation target.
LinkedIn does not support records deletions inside an audience. This means that DinMo will only be able to insert new records (companies or users), but not remove old ones.
LinkedIn only accepts audiences larger than 300 users. Please make sure that you are trying to synchronize at least 300 contacts with valid identifiers, otherwise your audience will not be created.

Activation Target Setup

  1. 1.
Go to the destination tab and select your LinkedIn destination
  2. 2.
On the sidebar, click on "Create a new activation target"
  3. 3.
Give a name to your activation target, for instance, "LinkedIn Ads - user audiences".
  4. 4.
Specify which type of data you want to synchronize: User or Company Audiences.
  5. 5.
Select the target ad account in which your audiences will be exported. If your ad account does not appear, it means that the user who set up the LinkedIn destination does not have the right permissions.
  6. 6.
    Hit Continue.
  7. 7.
Next, define the default activation setup. This setup will be used by default to activate segments, but you will be able to change it when creating advanced activations. Please define the default related entity - this will tell DinMo which type of data should be sent to the activation target.
  8. 8.
Then, map the fields of this entity to the fields required by the destination service to process the matching. For user audiences, LinkedIn expects to receive at least one of these identifiers to recognize the users you send: Email or Google AID. For company audiences, LinkedIn expects to receive at least one of these identifiers to recognize the companies you send: Company Name, Company Domain, Company Website URL or the LinkedIn Company Page URL.
  9. 9.
Under the scheduling option, specify the data refresh frequency to be applied for the default activations to this target. For most use cases, a daily sync is sufficient.
  10. 10.
Click "Continue," and then click "Create" to finish.

Activation setup

Now that you have properly configured your activation target, you are ready to sync data to this destination service. To do so:
  1. 1.
    Go to the Segments tab.
  2. 2.
Click on the segment you wish to activate.
  3. 3.
On the sidebar, click on "Activate", in the upper right.
  4. 4.
Tick the LinkedIn activation target you just created. You can tick other activation targets, if you wish to create multiple activations at once.
  5. 5.
If you want to not to use the default activation settings that has been defined in the activation target, click on Advanced, and make the necessary changes.
  6. 6.
Hit Activate on the upper right, then, click on "Sync my activation", to start sending data right away.
