Meta Ads

Please do the following steps to add Meta Ads as a destination in DinMo:
- 1.Go to the Destinations section in the navigation bar.
- 2.Click "Add a new destination".
- 3.Select "Meta Ads".
- 4.Click "Connect" to activate the connection. You will be redirected to Meta, where you will be asked to grant the necessary permissions to DinMo.
- 5.Click continue once the connection is done.
- 6.Give a name to your destination.
- 7.Click Connect.
DinMo can be used to sync audiences to all the Meta Ads platforms (Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, etc.). Click here to get more information about Meta Custom Audiences.
After having connected your destination, to sync data to Meta Custom Audiences, you are required to create an Activation Target corresponding to this service. Once done, you can then send segments to this activation target.
- 1.Navigate to the Destinations tab, and click on your Meta destination.
- 2.In the sidebar, click on "Create a new activation target", if none exists, or click on "New activation target" otherwise.
- 3.Name your Activation Target, for instance, "Meta Ads Custom Audiences - US Account".
- 4.Select "Custom Audiences" as the destination option.
- 5.Select the ad account that you want to use. If your ad account does not appear, it means that the user who set up the Meta destination does not have the right permissions.
- 6.Hit Continue.
- 7.Next, define the default activation setup. This setup will be used by default to activate segments, but you will be able to change it when creating advanced activations. Please define the default related entity - this will tell DinMo which type of data should be sent to the activation target.
- 8.Then, map the fields of this entity to the fields required by the destination service. Specify which properties of your entity correspond to the mail address, phone number, first name, and last name. Meta requires to specify a unique identifier. We recommend using either the email address or the phone number.By default, DinMo automatically verifies the hashing and hashes the following fields (if needed) before sending requests to Facebook:Fields

- 9.Under the Scheduling options, choose the time interval for syncing your segments to Meta Ads. A daily sync is sufficient for most use cases.
- 10.Click "Continue," and then click "Create" to finish.
Now that you have properly configured your activation target, you are ready to sync data to this destination service. To do so:
- 1.Go to the Segments tab.
- 2.Click on the segment you wish to activate.
- 3.On the sidebar, click on "Activate", in the upper right.
- 4.Tick the Meta Ads activation target corresponding to Custom Audiences. You can tick other activation targets, if you wish to create multiple activations at once.
- 5.If you want to not to use the default activation settings that has been defined in the activation target, click on Advanced, and make the necessary changes.
- 6.Hit Activate on the upper right, then, click on "Sync my activation", to start sending data right away.
DinMo can be used to sync offline conversions to Meta, feeding your ad platforms with offline events such as your in-store purchases, phone bookings, etc. Click here to get more information about Meta Offline Conversions.
After having connected your destination, to sync data to Meta Offline Conversions, you are required to create an Activation Target corresponding to this service. Once done, you can then send segments to this activation target.
- 1.Navigate to the Destinations tab, and click on your Meta destination.
- 2.In the sidebar, click on "Create a new activation target", if none exists, or click on "New activation target" otherwise.
- 3.Name your Activation Target, for instance, "Meta Ads Offline Conversions - US Account".
- 4.Select "Offline Conversions" as the destination option.
- 5.Select the event set ID that you want to use. If your event set ID does not appear, it means that the user who set up the Meta destination does not have the right permissions.
- 6.Hit Continue.
- 7.Next, define the default activation setup. This setup will be used by default to activate segments, but you will be able to change it when creating advanced activations. Please define the default related entity - this will tell DinMo which type of data should be sent to the activation target.
- 8.Then, map the fields of this entity to the fields required by the destination service. Meta requires the following information to be filled in the Field Mapping section:Field

Note that except the Event Time which should be of timestamp format, all other fields can be either hashed (sha 256), or clear text. DinMo will automatically check if the values are hashed, and will hash them if not. Nevertheless, we highly recommend to never store clear text customer values in a database. - 9.Under the Scheduling options, choose the time interval for syncing your segments to Meta Ads.
- 10.Click "Continue," and then click "Create" to finish.
Now that you have properly configured your activation target, you are ready to sync data to this destination service. To do so:
- 1.Navigate to the Activations tab, and click "New Activation" in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- 2.Select "Event Segment".
- 3.Choose the segment you want to sync to Meta Ads, then click "Continue".
- 4.Select the appropriate Activation Target.
- 5.Click "Continue".
- 6.Specify the Event Name corresponding to this activation. For instance, the event can be "Purchase" or "Subscription". The activation should correspond to one and only one event type. To send multiple types of events, please create multiple activations.
- 7.Meta requires the following information to be filled in the Field Mapping section:Field

DinMo can be used to sync web events to Meta, to bypass cookie based tracking limitations. Click here to get more information.
Meta proposes a multiple of different event types: Add to Cart, Complete Registration, Add to Wishlist, etc. DinMo supports each of these events.
Note that on DinMo, each event activation corresponds to one and only of these types. The type is specified in the setup process described below. If you want to send multiple types of events to Meta, you should do the following:
- Create an event segment per event type you wish to activate. This can be done easily using the no-code visual builder.
- Activate each of these event segments with the process described below.

- 5.Fill in the pixel ID that you want to use. You can find your pixel ID in the Facebook Business Manager portal.
- 6.Hit Continue.
- 7.Next, define the default activation setup. This setup will be used by default to activate segments, but you will be able to change it when creating advanced activations. Please define the default related entity - this will tell DinMo which type of data should be sent to the activation target.
- 8.Then, map the fields of this entity to the fields required by the destination service. Meta requires the following information to be filled in the Field Mapping section:

. Other information can be optionally mapped. - 9.Under the Scheduling options, choose the default time interval for syncing your segments to Meta Ads.
- 10.Click "Continue," and then click "Create" to finish.

- 1.Navigate to the Activations tab, and click "New Activation" in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- 2.Select "Event Segment".
- 3.Choose the segment you want to sync to Meta Ads, then click "Continue".
- 4.Select the appropriate Activation Target.
- 5.Click "Continue".
- 6.Specify the event type corresponding to your events. DinMo supports the following types:Event Types supported by DinMo

- 8.Under the Scheduling options, modify the time interval for syncing your segments to Meta Ads if you do not intent to use the default one defined in the activation target.
- 9.Click "Continue," and then click "Create" to finish.
